Vintage Rug Love

We’re going back to vintage in Ava’s room and I couldn’t be happier with her decision!  She is taking after her mom and handpicking timeless treasures to adorn her room.  It has been years since we picked out a rug for her room and naturally, I wanted her on board with choosing the perfect one.  You all know I have a strong love for vintage rugs!  Choosing a rug from Revival wasn’t easy, as they have a huge selection.  Thankfully, their website makes it easy to narrow down the style and color.  We knew we wanted a feminine design with neutral tones and subtle pastels.  We narrowed down our choices and Ava picked this beauty, called the Bryson.

This one of a kind vintage Turkish rug is loved for its intricate detail, size, age and beauty.  The deep mustard and slate gray patterns along the border are my favorite and the cream background helps it stand out.  The muted lavender hues are soft and subtle as the main color.  I caught Angel basking in the sun as I was taking pictures and couldn’t resist sharing her gorgeous blue eyes.

Ava’s room is far from complete; we still have a ways to go with adding bead board, trim and a new wall color.  This vintage rug, however, is a huge step and motivates us to get it finished!  Please enjoy these views of her room with her new (to us) vintage bed that we found on Facebook Marketplace earlier this year.  We learned that it came out of a Methodist parsonage and now we love it even more!  It needs a little love, but overall we love the patina of the metal decals and the varying colors of the wood.  It’s a solid bed and has so much character!

Stay tuned for more updates on Ava’s room as we continue to bring more collected pieces into her vintage room.

If you’re looking for a high quality and unique vintage rug, I encourage you to check out Revival Rugs.  We were so impressed with their attention to detail and thoughtful packaging.

Blessings,

About Alicia

Alicia of Our Vintage Nest

My name is Alicia Armstrong; thank you for being here!
Ever since I can remember, I've been exposed to interior decorating. Watching my mom decorate and antique shop is a vivid childhood memory. Since starting this blog in 2016, my taste in decor has evolved to a more refined style. I've never leaned toward trendy, but more of a classic and timeless style. I enjoy shopping my home and changing things up to update a space. I love working on relatively simple projects and seeing a piece of furniture or room transform on a small budget. We purchased a new home four years ago and while there's nothing that needs to be renovated, I'm constantly finding something to enhance. I've painted several rooms, added shiplap, designed built-ins for a homework station and updated builder grade tile since moving here in 2016.
I've been married to my husband, Chris for 20 years. He works as an IT engineer for a small business. We have two children and reside in NW Arkansas. We are a Christian family who desires to live a life with Christ at the center. We have two animals, a Golden Retriever, Paisley and a blue point Ragdoll, Angel. They definitely complete our family and bring us a lot of joy!
I'm happy you've found Our Vintage Nest, where I share inspiration for all things home. I hope to inspire you to love your home, re-purpose what you have through simple DIY and learn some practical design tips along the way.
