Our Master Bedroom: Details and Barn and Willow

If you’ve been following along the last few weeks, you know that I’ve been making some decor decisions for our master bedroom.  It’s been a fun process of picking out bedding, pillows and other accessories.  When I started thinking about what I wanted for our windows, I knew I wanted classic, neutral and simple drapery panels.  I was excited to discover Barn & Willow… Their simplistic design and quality is exactly what I was looking for.

Here’s a before view of our master bedroom (during the holidays) prior to adding that much needed texture to our framed windows.

Master bedroom reveal

I thought I’d share a little more about how I came to find Barn & Willow and why I loved my experience.  I’m a visual and textures girl… I like to be able to see and feel the quality before I decide.  I don’t know about you, but making a decision on something like draperies can be difficult.  I was so thrilled to know that they send swatches of all their drapery colors, making the process less stressful.  They also send out sample panels for you to rent and that’s exactly what I did in this case.  It was so helpful to step back and visualize; I highly recommend requesting one if you’re like me and need that extra guidance.

We decided on their beautiful Belgium Sheer Linen in Oatmeal and added privacy lining.  I absolutely adore the results and the added texture and warmth it gives to our master bedroom.  It’s exactly what this room needed!  I’m pleased to share that they’re offering my followers 10% off with promo code BW&VintageNest at www.barnandwillow.com

You may have caught my IG stories regarding the curtain rods.  Thanks to everyone who tuned in and gave their opinions and ideas!  I ultimately decided that these wrought iron ones from Lowes were the perfect match with our bed frame from Target.

Hi Monica… The old window is from an antique store. It was salvaged from an old home. I’ve had it for several years, but they can be found at flea markets and estate sales. Good luck on your search! :)

Hi Sam… Our bedroom rug has been the same rug, but two different sizes. At first, we used a 6×9 size, then I decided an 8×10 looked better in here. Hope that helps and thanks for your interest and sweet words!

About Alicia

Alicia of Our Vintage Nest

My name is Alicia Armstrong; thank you for being here!
Ever since I can remember, I've been exposed to interior decorating. Watching my mom decorate and antique shop is a vivid childhood memory. Since starting this blog in 2016, my taste in decor has evolved to a more refined style. I've never leaned toward trendy, but more of a classic and timeless style. I enjoy shopping my home and changing things up to update a space. I love working on relatively simple projects and seeing a piece of furniture or room transform on a small budget. We purchased a new home four years ago and while there's nothing that needs to be renovated, I'm constantly finding something to enhance. I've painted several rooms, added shiplap, designed built-ins for a homework station and updated builder grade tile since moving here in 2016.
I've been married to my husband, Chris for 20 years. He works as an IT engineer for a small business. We have two children and reside in NW Arkansas. We are a Christian family who desires to live a life with Christ at the center. We have two animals, a Golden Retriever, Paisley and a blue point Ragdoll, Angel. They definitely complete our family and bring us a lot of joy!
I'm happy you've found Our Vintage Nest, where I share inspiration for all things home. I hope to inspire you to love your home, re-purpose what you have through simple DIY and learn some practical design tips along the way.
