Hallway and Mudroom Lighting Transformation

This post is sponsored by Lights Online.  All opinions are my own and my experience with the brand and its products.

Hi friends!  Hope this finds everyone well!  I’m here to share the recent updates to our upstairs hallway and mudroom using lighting from Lights Online.  This hallway and mudroom transformation has been in the works for a few months now.  I’ve been searching for the perfect ceiling lights to bring character and charm to our hallway.  But first, let’s go back to 4 years ago and see how far this hallway has come!

We started with builder grade carpet and gray walls when we moved in 4 years ago.  I knew along the way that I would start to make changes by adding accent walls, an old door turned barn door and eventually hardwood floors to add texture and warmth.

About a year later, you can see the hallway slowly start to transform with beautiful hardwoods and white washed accent wall.

I always admired those gorgeous long hallways with pendant lights, faux wood beams and shiplap.  Earlier this year, I decided to remove the white washed boards and replace them with vertical shiplap.  Then, I repurposed a natural wood console table and painted it black to add contrast.

I love the contrast of the black console against the white shiplap and warm white oak floors.

The next step in transforming this hallway was to find custom lighting.  In order to transition from recessed can lights to ceiling lights, we needed conversion kits to make the installation easier.  I did a lot of searching for unique lighting and fell in love with the

Trade Winds Hammond Ceiling Light from Lights Online

Originally, we were going to use four lights upstairs.  One at the top of the stairs and three down the hallway.  After the first light went in, we knew it would look too crowded to have four, so we used the other one down in the mudroom.

So glad we used the fourth ceiling light down in our mudroom area.  Here’s a look at the before:

We still love this light and have decided to keep it to add in a closet or bathroom space.

Here is the after with Trade Winds Hammond Ceiling Light in the mudroom.

With just the right lighting, it can completely change the look of a space.  I want to thank Lights Online for working with me to create beautiful spaces with affordable, custom lighting.

I hope this easy hallway and mudroom lighting transformation inspires you to create beauty in unique areas of your home!

Happy Holidays to you and your family and thank you for stopping by!

Blessings,

About Alicia

Alicia of Our Vintage Nest

My name is Alicia Armstrong; thank you for being here!
Ever since I can remember, I've been exposed to interior decorating. Watching my mom decorate and antique shop is a vivid childhood memory. Since starting this blog in 2016, my taste in decor has evolved to a more refined style. I've never leaned toward trendy, but more of a classic and timeless style. I enjoy shopping my home and changing things up to update a space. I love working on relatively simple projects and seeing a piece of furniture or room transform on a small budget. We purchased a new home four years ago and while there's nothing that needs to be renovated, I'm constantly finding something to enhance. I've painted several rooms, added shiplap, designed built-ins for a homework station and updated builder grade tile since moving here in 2016.
I've been married to my husband, Chris for 20 years. He works as an IT engineer for a small business. We have two children and reside in NW Arkansas. We are a Christian family who desires to live a life with Christ at the center. We have two animals, a Golden Retriever, Paisley and a blue point Ragdoll, Angel. They definitely complete our family and bring us a lot of joy!
I'm happy you've found Our Vintage Nest, where I share inspiration for all things home. I hope to inspire you to love your home, re-purpose what you have through simple DIY and learn some practical design tips along the way.
